Channeling MacLeod

This is the quote I found on MacLeod’s web site from his Ignore Everybody book:

”4. If your biz plan depends on you suddenly being “discovered” by some big shot, your plan will probably fail.”

The more you ponder that quote, the curiouser it becomes.

Is Google a “big shot”?  A web site that is never “discovered” by Google will probably fail.
An agent who is never “discovered” by clients will probably fail.
A pop fiction novel that is never “discovered” by readers will probably fail.

I don’t doubt, though, that I am reading more into the quote than MacLeod ever intended.  :-)
